Give Up 10
Reflect with us this Lent and help end hunger – together.

Give Up 10 preview
Explore the first of our series of Lent reflections and discover how we can help end hunger today, together and forever.
We invite you to give just 10 minutes a week in Lent, to stand together with people who have no option but to use a food bank because they can’t afford life’s essentials. Join us to hear some of their stories and some fresh perspectives on moments when Jesus brings transformation in the Gospels.
Our Lent Reflections this year are called Walking Humbly – it is a phrase we have taken from the Bible verse in Micah 6:8 in which the prophet tells the people of Israel that God requires them to ‘Act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with their Lord.’
Jesus walked humbly with God and with the people around him during his time on earth. He lived in a way that led to him having extraordinary encounters with people and then bringing dignity, hope and restoration to people facing all kinds of injustice. Right now, people are experiencing the injustice of hunger across the UK.
Our food banks (many of them supported by or run by churches) are a lifeline for people facing hunger and hardship – but we know they're not the long-term solution. That’s why, as well as providing emergency food and practical support for people left without enough money to live on, we work to ensure a future where no one in the UK needs a food bank to survive. One essential way we do this is by listening to the voices of people who have faced hunger.
