A food bank is one of the last places anyone imagines they’ll be. Especially at Christmas.

Winter is the busiest time for food banks in the Trussell community. Last winter, 600,000 food parcels were distributed to people facing hunger and poverty. We expect this year to be just as challenging as more people struggle to afford even the essentials at this expensive time of year.

Donate to our urgent winter appeal today. Your gift offers more than just food - it brings hope, dignity and relief to people in financial hardship. Together, we can make a real difference.

Christmas should be a special time when people feel loved and included, not something they dread because they haven’t got any money. Anything you can give will make a huge difference, not just to us at the food bank, but by helping us connect people to other vital support.

How your donation can help

£25

could help a food bank provide emergency food to two people who can’t afford to eat, keep warm or pay the bills.

£50

could help us support food banks to provide emergency food to a whole family.

£150

could help a food bank respond to increased need for up to one week.

Your support makes a difference

You can help people like Matty*, who suddenly became a full-time carer for his wife when she sadly suffered a heart attack. He should have been properly supported by the social security system. But the system made it almost impossible for him to navigate without expert advice. He was left with no option but to use a food bank. For Matty, the food bank provided emergency food, but also a warm welcome and practical support.

Ali’s always been there to help with either a shoulder to cry on or help on the other side of a food parcel. I don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for her.

Together, we can end hunger for good. Your support could help us build a future free from hunger and poverty. One that ensures everyone can afford the essentials and that no one needs to use a food bank again.
