Postcode Lottery

Find out how players of Postcode Lottery have been supporting our work since 2020.

To date we have been awarded more than £4.25 million by the Postcode Care Trust – for which we’re incredibly grateful!

This funding has helped ensure food banks in our community can continue to support people facing hunger and hardship, while we work together to end the need for food banks for good.

Support at our busiest time of year

During winter 2024-25, we were awarded an additional £500,000 on top of the £500,000 we received earlier in the year. Thank you to players of Postcode Lottery!

Winter is an especially difficult time for many people and with rising energy bills, it’s often the busiest time for food banks struggling to keep up with need. This extra donation made a huge difference to supporting people with a warm welcome, emergency food and access to advice so that fewer people will need a food bank again.

Millionaire Steet

As well as supporting Trussell centrally, funding has been received by individual food banks in our community from Postcode Community Trust, through the Millionaire Street Grant Fund. So far 22 food banks have been awarded funding, totalling £765,000.

The power of partnership

The support of Postcode Lottery goes beyond just funding. In the last few years, we have organised events and food banks visits with their team to share more about our mission and the role that food banks play in supporting people facing hanger and hardship. We have also travelled to their offices to share our latest campaigns and bring them along on our journey towards a future without the need for food banks.

In April 2025, a group from the Postcode Lottery team in Scotland volunteered at West Lothian Foodbank. They spent the day with staff and volunteers, helping to sort and pack stock in the warehouse.

We are deeply grateful for all the support we have received from players of Postcode Lottery in the last five years. Food banks provide a lifeline for so many people facing hardship, but they shouldn’t have to exist in a just and compassionate society. And they weren’t set up to respond to this level of need – they’re stretched to breaking point trying to help increasing numbers of people on the lowest incomes. A future without the need for food banks is possible, but we can’t achieve it alone, that’s why the support of players of Postcode Lottery is making a huge difference for us and our community of food banks. Together we can end hunger. Thank you!
