Location: Based from home, London or Salisbury – travel around the UK and across the assigned area as necessary, including attendance at staff conferences, 121s and team away days
Full/part-time: Full time (35 hours per week)
Contract type: 13 month Fixed Term Contract
Salary: £58,022.03 per annum plus benefits
Responsible for developing, managing and evaluating projects; directing the work of a team of experts to support food banks; and liaising with teams across Trussell and external partners to ensure that food banks receive high quality support and advice.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Organising and Local Mobilisation (OLM) team as a Senior Manager. You’ll manage a team of OLM Managers and, alongside another Senior Manager, lead our Community Power project and targeted mobilisation work.
Community Power funds and supports food banks to employ a Community Organiser, who brings together people with lived experience of hunger and hardship to campaign on the change they want to see. People affected lead the campaigns themselves, building the skills, relationships and confidence to keep making change long after a campaign ends. We connect campaign groups and community organisers in the same place, or working on the same issue so that local action builds towards change at every level.
Our targeted mobilisation work supports food banks in key constituencies to take part in Trussell’s national campaigns, so decision-makers hear directly from their local communities at key moments. The strong relationships OLM Managers build with food banks make this possible.
We’re looking for someone with experience of organising and/or campaigning, who is confident leading a team dispersed across the UK and managing complex projects. You’ll share our belief in the power of communities to make change, and our commitment to a future where no one needs a food bank to survive.
