Matty* never imagined he’d need to visit a food bank, but when he did, he found more than just emergency food. He found a safe, welcoming space where he was heard, supported, and connected to the advice and services he desperately needed.

I felt worse than worse. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. But I had nowhere to turn.
Matty

Thousands more people like Matty will find themselves at the doors of a food bank this Christmas. Your gift today could help them receive the practical and emotional support they need this Christmas.

This Christmas, food banks need your support

Winter is often the busiest time for food banks in the Trussell community. Last winter, 600,000 food parcels were distributed to people facing hunger and poverty. We expect this year to be just as challenging as more people struggle to afford even the essentials at this expensive time of year.

Right now, we urgently need your support to provide food, advice, and practical help to those facing hunger this winter. Your gift today could help ease the pressure on food banks and ensure families don’t go without the essentials.

Food banks are described as organisations that support people. But they’re so much more than that. They’re literally keeping families alive. The love and support I felt from them is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.
